Mindfulness Celebration! This new release in my Mindfulness Series is a celebration of Mindfulness Practice which is all about self-care. Are you curious to know the significance of the design of this painting in terms of Mindfulness? Perhaps you can already figure it out!
I refer to it as a celebration because while I consider myself an experienced beginner in mindfulness practice with much to learn, through meditation and mindfulness activities I am experiencing the benefits on a daily basis. If that isn’t a cause to celebrate, then I don’t know what is!
The painting has motion and different colours to represent the memories of the past and thoughts of the future that are the ever-present messages our brain relentlessly churns out.
There is calm space created by the biscuit colour which represents the space created between those memories and thoughts of the future and our own reaction in the moment.
One of the most rewarding outcomes of my mindfulness practice is the feeling of liberation when I find I’ve created that space between thought and reaction. It might be for a fleeting moment or two, but the physical sense of relief is real. As I look at this painting, I relive those good feelings.
As I start my next painting, I begin looking for a home for this one. Do you wish to celebrate your mindfulness practice?
You can find more details about the painting here.

If you’re a busy person who would like a ‘guerilla’ intro to mediation, check out my recent post.
Mindfulness activities and Mindfulness art are my principal interests. Prior to my career as a painter I wrote and directed short films. I’m also a certified training manager and designer. These skills dovetail with my longstanding interest in Mindfulness, meditation and life-long learning. I enjoy creating emotional paintings that are not only beautiful but which support and enhance a Mindfulness practice. Do feel free to subscribe to receive my notes on mindfulness practices and special offers on new artwork.
